LANSING, MI (WILX) - Lots of patriotism in the "Capitol City" on Thursday.
Lansing's Independence Day celebration began with a parade downtown.
Attendees were entertained by antique and specialty cars, musicians, dancers, and community and military groups.
Paige Lloyd, a Lansing resident, was just one of the many who enjoyed the festivities, "We just wanted to get out and see a parade, have some fun, maybe get some candy. Maybe, see some really cool floats."
But the party was not not over.
Even with the severe weather that came through Lansing Thursday night the Lansing concert band still performed patriotic works which was followed by a free firework display at Adado Riverfront Park.
