DETROIT, Mich. (WILX) - A nationwide crackdown on sex trafficking led to the rescue of 12 Michigan children.
According to the FBI, the crackdown also resulted in 54 arrests in Michigan.
Eight of those arrested were sex traffickers or pimps and the other 46 people were allegedly involved in prostitution.
Nationwide 84 children were rescued and 120 alleged traffickers were arrested.
The youngest of the children rescued included a three month old and her five year old sister.
Over the past 11 years, more than 6,500 children have been rescued from sex trafficking operations nationwide.
