LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -- Tonight the 90th annual Academy Awards are on tap in Hollywood.
The movie industry will honor the year's best work.
There seems to be little drama about the top four acting honors, but best picture could be up for grabs.
But ceremony officials are hoping not to repeat last year's best picture envelope mix up.
"They're going to be paying, special close attention to what envelope make it out onto the stage this year, no incidents!" joked Grae Drake of Rotten Tomatoes.
But she says there is still room for a shocker when it comes to best picture.
"It's strange this year, because it seems like anything could win, more so than other years, which I think is great."
With thirteen nominations, the fantasy romance "The Shape of Water" is seen as a front runner, long with the revenge drama, "Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing Missouri".
But neither has completely captivated Hollywood.
"I think what ends up happening during voting is that everyone goes, they're going to give it to this person or this film, so I'm going to vote for someone else, and then this magical upset happens," says Drake.
Which could open the door for a darkhorse such as the box office hit, "Get Out," the World War II drama "Dunkirk," or the coming of age comedy "Lady Bird".
Last year, the last award of the night set Hollywood on fire.
"It was one of the most exciting things to happen at an Oscars ceremony. In a totally bananas way," Drake recalled.
This year, Oscar's biggest prize could have another Hollywood ending.
