UPDATE - Lansing teens die in crash on US 127

UPDATE - 12:05 PM

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office has released more information about a fatal crash on northbound US 127 just north of French Road in Greenbush Township.

Two people in a pickup truck rear ended a semi-truck/trailer. The two people in the pickup were an 18-year-old man who was driving, and a 16-year-old male passenger. Both of the victims were residents of Lansing. Names are not being released until family members of the victims are notified.

The crash remains under investigation by the Clinton County Accident Investigation Team.


Two people have been killed in an accident along US-127, north of St. Johns Tuesday morning.

An official with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office says a pickup truck carrying two people crashed into the back of a semi tractor trailer around 8am near French Road.

The two people inside the pickup were killed. The driver of the semi was not hurt.

The northbound lanes of US-127 are shut down, but traffic is moving slowly along the shoulder, according to the Clinton County Sheriff's department official.

The identities of those killed have not been released pending notification of family.

An accident investigation team is expected to be at the scene for hours. Stay with and watch News 10 tonight for updates.
