18 year-old Mayor elected in Oregon

He's barely old enough to vote and now he's a Mayor.

In the small town of Yoncalla, Oregon Ben Simons was elected mayor at just 18 years-old.

But don't let his age fool you, he's accomplished quite a bit already, he was high school valedictorian, he's a college student, he's a City Councilor, and even a volunteer firefighter.

"My age should not be my qualifying or disqualifying factor, that I've really got the skill set and ambition to take on this and I hope to do good" says Simons.

He starts his term as Mayor on January 1st.
