Assist the Activity Services Coordinator in the Implementation of the Activity Program by facilitating the programs and monitoring their success so that all residents are provided access to social, physical, psychological, cultural, sensory, and spiritual well-being.


· Promote resident’s participation in activity programming

· Implement Snack and Hydration programming periodically during programming

· Implement Exercise and Recreational programming which promotes Physical function

· Implement Religious programming which promotes Spiritual and Cultural well-being

· Implement one-to-one programming which promotes combinations of sensory stimulation

· Implement Music and Reminisce programming which promotes cognitive and socialization function

· Implement Intergenerational activities programming

· Implement Life Skills programming which promotes sustaining current abilities

· Implement Community and Special Events programming which promotes Socialization and cultural function

· Implement Outing Programming which promotes community involvement

· Document resident’s levels of participation and satisfaction in programs being offered

· Implement Activity Programming as a means of behavioral intervention when necessary

· Assist Culinary Services staff in directing residents to appropriate dining rooms and implementing the Joy of Dining Program

· Assist residents to appropriate staff for restroom use



· Must be energetic and a positive thinker, flexible and quick thinking

· Must be able to implement scheduled programming without supervision

· Must be able to perform observations of residents population for reporting purposes.

· Must have creativity and be self-motivated

· Must be able to deal with disabilities and negative behaviors

· Must be able to implement programs with safety measures utilized

Working Conditions: Must be able to work in these conditions with or without the aid of mechanical devices.

· Works in activity areas as well as throughout all the other community department areas (i.e., dining rooms, resident rooms, offices, etc.).

· Sits, stands, bends, lifts, push, pull, exercise, perform actions associated with recreational programs and moves in excess of 50 pounds intermittently during working hours

· Subject to frequent interruptions, emotional and mental stress

· Involved with residents, personnel, visitors, governmental agencies, under all conditions and circumstances

· Subject to elderly, disabled, ill, and at times hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.

· Communicates with all department head coordinators and administrative staff

· Works beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, holidays, and in other positions temporarily when necessary

· Attends and participates in continuing education programs

· May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions etc., including hepatitis B viruses

· Prior experience within the scope of the position description preferred

Specific Requirements

· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

· Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, family, visitors, residents, governmental agencies, and the general public

· Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

· Must be knowledgeable and able to function within the parameters of the Activity Services policies and procedures

· Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel

· Must have ability to organize, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the activities department

· Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and maintain the appearance of the activity services areas, must perform regular inspections of the areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties

· Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning at

· Must possess ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices

· Must be able to read and interpret activity documents and data

· Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents

Database Administrator


Salary: $95,000.00/yr


Responsible for the development, maintenance, performance, and monitoring of Oracle production databases.


· Make technical recommendations and implement policies and standards relating to the architectural design of databases, network communications, and storage space utilization for production and development databases

· Research, plan and manage Oracle licensing

· Profit planning for Oracle database related expenses

· Manage relationship with Oracle including support and licensing

· Analyze and plan for future database, server, storage, and network requirements

· Research and plan implementation of Oracle upgrades, patches and bug fixes

· Gather database statistics for trend analysis

· Research and implement the usage of new Oracle features and enhancements

· Work with management to control redundancy and server resource usage

· Design database growth management strategies. Design database backup and recovery strategy

· Produce periodic reports for management and staff. Plan, develop, test, and tune Oracle databases

· Install third-party applications for testing and implementing in production

· Develop and maintain, SQL, Linux and UNIX programs to monitor database conditions and activities.

Identify application and/or SQL performance problems and assist in their resolution.

Analyze, review, and alter database parameters and structure to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements

· Consults with users to identify current database requirements and clarify objectives

· Document current, revised, and new processes and procedures.

Perform prototyping and database tuning and optimizing.

Stay up to date with advances in information technology by reading manuals, trade periodicals, and technical reports relating to Oracle databases

· Provide technical assistance to other Information Services personnel

· Maintain concentration and focus in order to meet performance goals

· React positively to an ongoing, changing environment

· Demonstrate the ability to handle pressure when attempting to meet deadlines and performance goals

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; Oracle certification and/or five years of relevant Oracle experience preferred


· A minimum of three years of experience in maintaining a production environment.

· Experience as an application developer a plus.

Computer Experience:

Must be able to type quickly and accurately, use a mouse effectively, and have a basic understanding of Windows-based operating systems.

Skills & Abilities:

· Ability to troubleshoot client/server problems

· Knowledge of communication layer between network and Oracle database

· Demonstrated competency in Oracle database administration

· Ability to use Oracle database utilities and management tools

· Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, Linux and UNIX commands, and shell programming
