In My View 3/14/2019: High school basketball

(WILX) -- We've got quite a draw for the Breslin Center at noon Friday in the boys semi finals of the state tournament, in my view as good a doubleheader as fans might want to witness.

They'll have to give up the MSU game in the Big Ten tournament in Chicago, on at the same time.

But the opener finds Emoni Bates of Ypsilanti Lincoln in action against Howell.

Bates is considered the top ninth grader in America a possible NBA pick giving up college in four years.

And Howell is making its first semi-final appearance in 91 years, since back in 1927.

The nightcap features top ranked and heavily favored Detroit Jesuit against Okemos, so mid Michigan fans have an area team to root for and it would be quite an upset, in my view, if Okemos won to advance to Saturday's state title game.
