If you are at home and need a ride to get to a cooling center, you can call 211.

Or, if staying home is your plan, stay cool by staying in the AC. Consumers Energy is offering tips on how to keep your home cool here.

Other tips to survive the hot temps are:
• Drink more fluids and avoid liquids with large amounts of sugar and alcohol.
• Limit outdoor activities to when it’s coolest in the morning and evening.
• Spend time indoors in air conditioning.
• Wear lightweight, light-colored and loose-fitting clothing.
• Wear sunscreen, as sunburn affects a body’s ability to cool down.
