A familiar face and voice in mid-Michigan for the past 50 years-- from anchoring the sportscast on News 10 to hosting the popular Staudt on Sports radio program, there's a reason Tim Staudt is affectionately known as the "dean of sports."

He graduated from East Lansing High School in 1967 and went on to Michigan State University where he got his Journalism degree, and with it decided to pursue sports.

Tim has interviewed hundreds of coaches across the decades like Gus Ganakiis, Tom Izzo, George Perles and many more.

He has crossed paths with many sports legends including Magic Johnson, Duffy Daugherty, Arthur Ashe, Mike Ditka, Muhammed Ali, the list is endless.

So many interviews, so many newscasts, so many awards such as Citizen of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce, and the MSU Outstanding Alumni Award.

Tim was inducted into the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame, and just last week, Tim was inducted into the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Congratulations to you Tim, 50 years, what an accomplishment!

Tim tells us about the beginning of his career from the legends he's interviewed to the ones he'd still love to interview or wish he had.

Take a look.
