Rachel  Sweet

Rachel is a native to Michigan and grew up in the Metro Detroit area.

She graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a cum laude degree in Media Communication, minoring in Technical and Professional Communication in May 2017.

As a student Rachel was extremely active being the first student to complete a certificate in Audio Technology.

She was also on the Women’s Soccer team, a member of Delta Tau Sigma Sorority and was Miss Lawrence Tech 2012 giving her the opportunity to compete in the Miss Michigan Scholarship Pageant.

She also helped create a broadcasting organization called Blue Devil Broadcasting to help inform students with everything happening on campus.

Her dreams to be in the media grew when she landed an internship at CBS Radio for 97.1 the Ticket.

She then worked her way into the T.V. industry landing another internship with WDIV - Local 4 in Detroit.

Prior to coming to Lansing, Rachel’s internship at WDIV - Local 4 became an official position.

The Executive Producers of the show Live In The D created a position for Rachel to become the first Associate Producer of the daytime lifestyle show.

As an Associate Producer she gained all types of experience in producing live segments and working big events like America’s Thanksgiving Parade and America’s Got Talent.

When she’s not working you can find Rachel with her family or singing and playing guitar at local Michigan events.

Rachel is excited to join the WILX 10 team and to explore the Mid-Michigan area.
