Dr. Fauci urges MSU grads to trust science at commencement ceremony
EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Dr. Anthony Fauci spoke Friday at Michigan State University’s Doctoral Commencement Ceremony at the Breslin Center.
The former Chief Medical Adviser to Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden, as well as the past Director for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, served as the keynote speaker for the event.
Fauci emphasized the importance of the COVID-19 vaccine and believing in science, urging the graduates not to fall for conspiracy theories and rumors.
“The result was millions of lives saved throughout the U.S. and the world. That is the beauty of science at its best,” Fauci told the graduates. “Unfortunately, during the pandemic, a significantly anti-science element rose in our society that is now quite vocal.”
In recognition of his career, Fauci received an honorary Doctor of Humanities during the ceremony.
Congratulations Spartans!
