LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A 12-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after being shot Friday evening.

It happened at 5:12 p.m. on Maybel Street, just north of the intersection of Jolly and Waverly roads.

Police said they don’t know what lead to the shooting, but the boy is expected to survive.

Police are looking for a suspect, a white boy wearing a black mask. He left in a blue sedan.

The incident is separate from a shooting that occurred Friday morning near the intersection of Cedar Street and Miller Road. A 17-year-old girl was killed in the shooting and three people were injured -- including a 10-week-old baby.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lansing Police Department at 517-483-4600 or 517-483-4659, or Crime Stoppers at 517-483-7867.
