Firefighter, multiple others injured in crash on I-69

CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WILX) - UPDATE: One firefighter and multiple others were injured in an accident on southbound I-69 near Island Highway.
According to the Charlotte Fire Department, a Charlotte volunteer firefighter arrived on the scene of a rollover accident around 11:30 Saturday morning. Before the firefighter was able to get out of his truck, a SUV rear ended him.
Other Charlotte firefighters arrived and they began to treat the injured firefighter and other people involved in the original rollover and the two people in the SUV who rear ended the firefighter.
Eaton Area EMS transported 3-4 people to area hospitals and Charlotte FD transport the injured firefighter to Eaton Sparrow, according to authorities. The firefighter received minor injuries and was treated and released.
First responders are reminding motorists of Michigan’s Move Over law that requires drivers to slow down and move over for stationary authorized vehicles with flashing, rotating, or oscillating lights activated.
