LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Lansing Police chief Daryl Green will join the Michigan State University Police Department after he retires this month.

MSU Police told News 10 Green will be the Chief of Staff to Vice President for Public Safety and Chief of Police Marlon Lynch.

This new position is part of the department’s reorganization, and more changes are expected.

In his new role, Green will oversee professional standards, the budget and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.

Wednesday, Lansing Mayor Andy Schor announced Green was retiring after 25 years with the Lansing Police Department, two of those year’s as chief.

Green’s last day with LPD is June 25.

He will start at MSUPD after July 1.
