Legendary Olivet College Coach Passes Away

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Olivet College has announced the death of legendary coach Gary Morrison who died January 3rd at the age of 86. Morrison was a part of the school for more than 40 years and he served as men’s head golf coach from 1975-2010. Morrison retired as the winningest golf coach in MIAA league history. Morrison came to Olivet in September, 1967 to serve as head men’s basketball coach and he retired after the 1996-97 season. He also was head base ball coach from 1971-86. Morrison is a 1994 inductee into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame. he is survived by his wife Judy and four children, to go with 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
