Woman Dies From Shoveling Snow

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a 64-year-old suburban Detroit woman has been found dead on the porch of her home after shoveling snow.
The Oakland County sheriff's department says deputies responded Thursday morning to the home in Independence Township and the woman on the front porch. A neighbor told investigators that she had been seen shoveling snow the previous day.
The department says the woman was pronounced dead by a doctor. Investigators say there was no sign of foul play. An autopsy was planned.
The area got several inches of snow Wednesday as part of a storm that dumped more than 9 inches on parts of southern Michigan.
