wow a ton of hail in seconds photo
I agree that the southern counties need to see on tv where thoes storms are comming from.at least 25 miles below the ind,ohio lines into mich.it may give more time to prepare.we have had alot of bad weather here and many do depend on tv only.watching radar on tv reports.our local radio station in hillsdale don't always come in so well.but in the town south of us,camden,cell phones don't work so well either.and since they do not have cable tv,only satilite,it also causes problems.some trees came down around here,the sky got so black and boom.many said it surprised them,didn't even think it would be so bad and hit so fast.no one got a take cover sirren.but should of,just considering the winds were so strong.just because a tornado wasn't spotted didn't mean it was safe.how long before the next round of storms?but I think there will be more.the weather is wierd this year.
Sunday me and couple of friends we are hawk island when they closed the park due to severe thunderstorm warning s we were waiting for our ride and we were told we had to leave the park seeing as we were sitting by the playground we packed up our things and started walking towards the pavillion when u could see the rain come down and we knew that we were in a world of hurt everyone started running and next thing we heard were sirens and the wicked wind just a roaring... they crammed everyone in to the bathrooms... there was a little cement room that they put the children i told my friends to go and ill stay seeing as there wasnt alot of room and i was the oldest out of 7 teens. I knew what to do seeing as ihad already made it through the one that took my house Last august... everyone was crying there were at least 50 people caught at hawk island and many more in there cars .... then wouldnt allow us to leave the park even if our ride was there til 5 30 luckily no one was hurt and fine
I was driving my car and saw a huge dark gray cloud with rain pouring at a 90-degree angle high above, and then all of a sudden, there was something like fog all across the road and torents of rain in which I switched on my wipers to high immediately. As I pulled up to Michigan Ave, I saw a huge dark gray cloud with high winds whipping debris way up high and tossing parts of shrubs from the median. I realized then I was staring down a tornado only about 20-30 feet away! I didn't know what was going to happen next, so I turned up Michigan Ave to my right off the one-way as I would surely have had no luck driving in front of it. It was coming at me, but I eventually managed to drive out of its way having stopped a couple times pulling into the business driveways. I prayed for Divine intervention. I could not see to drive, but finally was able to go on my way home to get to my cats. That's all I could think of was to get home to my cats!
Decapitated a couple of large maples that pulled down the power lines, just missing our house, Saturday night. Heard a loud roaring noise, jumped out of bed to head toward the basement, then the trees snapped and we lost power and all went quiet. Consumers worked all day yesterday to restore everyones power, but skipped us. We appear to be the only residence on Dexter Trail right out of Mason without power. It looks like all they need to do is connect the line to our house, but they say it will be Wednesday night before we get power back. Not asking for special treatment, just the same as my neighbors! Glad no one in our area got hurt.
driving down road hillsdale county,large tree fell in front of my small car.lucky I had good breaks.scared me when I think what could of happen.wind just came up as sky blackened then it was here and gone.some have power outages,tree damage.haven't heard all reports of this county.any one know.our town seems alright.more storms on the way today.would like better coverage of the very lower towns,as many storms come from Indiana and head for mich,must go through here to get where going.storms just don't start at the line between mich and Indiana.help keep us informed as well.and what's comming.many are in rural areas and small towns.doppler radar provides a better idea than some radio stations.seeing the path of the storm is so much better.not all have radios with good reception,or computers.we depend on tv ,and many watch to wilx.when will storms stop?who knows.we can't control the weather and this is one of thoes years,as years in the past.remember the palm sundy tornadoes.we do.
It started raining hard. I jumped up, shut the windows and then the power went out. As I got halfway down the steps, I got this sickening feeling as though something wasn't right. I ran the rest of the way down and jerked the door open. It was like opening the door to chaos. The wind was deafening and things were flying past the windows. I yelled at the two kids that were home to get to the basement, that it MUST be a tornado. They were sauntering along, saying okay. I'm like, no, NOW. I grabbed them by their shirts and pushed them towards the kitchen, practically flinging them down in the basement. The wind continued to roar for about one more minute. The damage: One big tree was down on my neighbor’s house. The big tree that stood next to it was across his privacy fence onto his neighbor’s garage. On the other side of my house, another big tree was down on my other neighbor’s house. From the time the rain began until chaos was only seconds, less than a minute. No warning whatsoever.
Blew down a ton of trees. Had to snake through East Lansing and Grand Ledge tonight with all the lumber on the highway. Please tell me this is going to stop!
