Karen Alred is a US Army veteran and mother of two. Alred and her 15-year-old daughter live in the home her father previously owned. As of recently, the home needs serious repairs. Repairs that Alred is unable to do herself. The city of Lansing heard her story and reached out to local community groups that partnered up with Home Depot's volunteer force. Saturday those members of the community came out to help with repairing Alred's home.
Meeting a superhero can be a huge confidence booster to many children. Some dream of becoming one or at least meet one. Today children with autism got a chance to make their dreams come at the Autism Activity Day, hosted by the Centria Autism Services.
