"You put stuff out and it will be gone in a day." -Student Book Store Manager, Brad Ballein

The holidays are usually filled with green and red. This year it's going to be a lot of green and white under the tree.

"We were just looking around for the Christmas gifts," MSU alum Dan Hude said at the MSU Student Book Store.

The Rose Bowl merchandise has been on the shelves for a week and Christmas is a week away, which means some items could be hard to find.

"The t-shirts are going to be Christmas gifts for my kids," MSU Professor Jayne Schuieman said. "Sorry guys, it's not a surprise."

Almost everyone was shopping for family members or friends, and some don't even care if it's a surprise.

"He gave me a little hint that he wanted a long-sleeved t-shirt," Nicki Badgero said.

No matter what people are looking for, the student ook store has it or maybe had it.. Rose Bowl gear has been flying off the shelves. The staff is working around the clock to handle the holiday rush.

"You put stuff out and it will be gone in a day," Student Book Store Manager Brad Ballein said.

Tree ornaments and glassware are especially popular with many people searching for nostalgia from the last trip to Pasadena

"My parents have the same mug from 1988, so I wanted to get the same one from this year for them," MSU Junior Skyler Dutkiewicz said.

The must-have item in the store right now is probably the Rose Bowl jersey for $100. Everything is also available online, and those web sales are through the roof.

"We've done our best to ship everything out that's being shipped as quickly as possible so people will have it in time for Christmas," Ballein said. "It's been hard to keep up, it has been."

It's not as hard when you have your own t-shirt printing business though, like former MSU star running back T.J. Duckett. He's making custom shirts for the Rose Bowl to show his support

"It was a proud moment to have gone to this university and been a part of this university, and that's what it feels like," Duckett said. "It's in your blood, it's who I am. I'm a Michigan State Spartan and I always be."

Even though he didn't make it to the Rose Bowl, like many people, he said this year it's the best gift he could ever get.

A portion of the proceeds from Duckett's shirts go to charity.
