Lansing Police Investigate Armed Robbery

A man who said he was armed, robbed a Lansing Speedway Gas Station early Monday morning.

Police say the suspect walked into the station at 1423 East Michigan Avenue at approximately 4:10am. He told the clerk he had a gun then took cash and cigarettes.

A police dog tracked the suspect from the store to the area of Jerome and Horton Streets where police believe he had met a car and made his getaway.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5r'7" tall. He was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and had a white scarf over his face.

The clerk was not injured.
