The town was ranked one of the best places to live for having some of the most affordable homes in the country, according to CNN Money.
Some of Hasletts residents weren't surprised by the recognition.
"I was surprised when we weren't one, two, or three, but I was pleased to be number thirteen," said Milton L. Scales, a Haslett Resident and Meridian Township Trustee.

"You get a good bang for your buck in Haslett," said Scales.
"Our tax rate is low at 7 mills. It's almost half of what surrounding cities are charging," said Frank Walsh, Meridian Township Manager.
In Haslett the median home price is $124,000, with the average family income being more than $78,000 a year.
Homes for sale don't last long on the market, but there's more to Haslett than just being affordable. Residents say it's all about the location.
"It doesn't have mountains, oceans, or big lakes, but it's an ideal place. It's close to MSU, it's close to the Meridian Mall, and it's in walking distance to Lake Lansing," said Bob Ryde*.
"We offer just such great services. Everything is nearby, our police and fire department, our parks, our pathway system, our schools. We don't take a back-sest to anyone," said Walsh.
Clawson, MI, small suburb in Detroit came in at number seven on the list. It's a walkable town, with easy access to parks, schools and recreation programs. There are also a lot of high-paying engineering and tech jobs in the area thanks to big employers like GM.
