Jim Brown has lived in his home in Reading Township for 24 years and he has never seen any sort of accident on the two-lane road near his home. That's why he was surprised to find a guard rail when he came home from work Monday.
He says it's unnecessary and a waste of money.
The Hillsdale County Road Commission says its guard rail locations are based on the depth of the drop off near the road and the slope of the roadway. He says the road near Brown's property matches the MDOT criteria for a guard rail.
