The farm to table movement is gaining momentum here in mid-Michigan, and people are finding all sorts of ways to eat locally.
That trend has caused one local food truck to become quite popular.
"The Purple Carrot" is so popular they often sell out of items. It was rated last year as one of the 20 best food trucks in the US by Smithsonian Magazine. It was also nominated two years ago for a chance to appear on the Food Network
It's the first farm to table food truck in Michigan. They use whatever produce is in season to make creative dishes. This is their peak season because of how much fresh produce is available. And of course, summer weather makes people want to eat outside.
