Halloween-themed Concert

The Grand Ledge Community Band under the direction of Matthew Zerman, will be performing. Tickets are $5 presale, available at the Opera House, MacDowell's Floral and Fireplace and True Value Hardware. Tickets are $7 at the door and $15 for the immediate family.

Jackson Symphony Orchestra - Michigan and Finland, a tale of two...cold places

Jackson College's Potter Center, 2111 Emmons Rd., Jackson, MI 49201
Scott Seaton, a young conductor who has appeared all across the country and Europe with many major orchestras, is bringing a unique program of Michigan composer Evan Chambers, Kairos, and two masterpieces of Sibelius, Finlandia and Symphony #2.

The concert is preceded by the Backstage Glimpse, a free educational and entertaining presentation with Dr. Bruce Brown, 6:30 p.m. in the Federer Room at Jackson College.

Singer and songwriter Rosanne Cash and John Leventhal’s new show celebrates the release of her much anticipated new album, The River and the Thread.

The River and the Thread (January 2014, Blue Note Records) is a collection of new original songs that connect and re-connect Rosanne to the American South, the place of her birth and the home of her ancestors.

Rosanne follows her acclaimed Grammy nominated and award winning album The List (2009) with her own poetic survey of places and people of The South on these beautiful and varied songs written with her collaborator, musical director and husband, John Leventhal.

Mason Orchestral Society Halloween Concert
