Amanda comes to Lansing from another Big 10 town, Bloomington, Indiana. In December 2012, she graduated with distinction from Indiana University with a degree in Journalism and a concentration in Political Science. She was a member of Indiana University's Hutton Honors College and was the 2012 Homecoming Queen.

At IU, Amanda reported for Southern Indiana's PBS/NPR affiate WTIU/WFIU. She covered community and unversity issues for television, radio and the web.

During the summer of 2012, Amanda interned for CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 in New York City. Amanda also interned in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA at WPXI-TV. She's an avid Steeler fan and loves her home city. In her free time, Amanda likes to volunteer, cook and cheer on her Hoosiers and Steelers.
