MSU Junior Michelle Meunier knows what it's like to have someone close to her in the hospital.
"I had a family member in the hospital a couple years ago," she said, "and I just remember she really enjoyed getting the e-cards and stuff like that. It helped every once in a while to get a new card and know people were thinking about her."
That's why she created a Facebook group directing people to Sparrow Hospital's website where they can send Coach Dantonio an e-card.
"All of us around Michigan State feel like we know him, but he doesn't know any of us," she said. "So I just thought it would be a nice way for the community to get around him and back him up, and help him know that were all behind him hoping he recovers well."
Junior Britney Hansen sent coach a card she hoped would make him smile.
"I think smiling and laughing is probably the best way to recover from something like this," said Hansen.
Well wishers are also leaving notes for Coach Dantonio on the Facebook page itself. Nearly 7,500 people have joined the online group, and that number grows every time you refresh the page.
You might be surprised at who's actually joining the group.
"There are a lot of people who are actually from U of M saying ya I might be a Michigan fan but we're all praying for speedy recovery because they want to see him coach at the Big House october 9," said Meunier.
But it's still unclear whether he'll make it out to that game.
