The New York Yankees Friday signed free agent outfielder Brennan Boesch. The Yankees hope Boesch's lefthand bat can produce home runs down the short rightfield line in Yankee Stadium. Boesch was cut earlier in the week by the Detdroit Tigers after playing in 132 games for the team a year ago. The Tigers released him to save on a contract option.
