After losing 6-0 at St. Louis on opening night, the Detroit Red Wings beat the Blues 5-1 in St. Louis Thursday night. Petr Mrazek started in goal for Detroit after being called up from Grand Rapids, the Wings' top farm club. Both teams had two game losing streaks entering play. The Red Wings improve to 5-4-1 with the victory.
