Top ranked Novak Djokovic will begin the defense of his Wimbledon men's singles title Monday against Juan Carlos Ferrero, a former number one player and 2003 French Open champion. If form holds, Djokovic and six time champ Roger Federer will play their sixth semi final in the last eight Grand Slams. Two time champ and second seed Rafale Nadal and fourth seed Brit Andy Murray are in the bottom of the draw. On the women's side top seed Maria Sharapova has a first round match with Anastasis Rodionova of Australia. Sharapova could meet defending champ Petra Kvitova in the final for a second straight year. Venus and Serena Williams, who share nine Wimbledon titles and have met in four finals, are in different halves of the draw.
