Lindsay Vonn is being forced out of the Olympic games which begin in a month in Sochi, Russia. The four time World Cup overall champion made the decision to pass up the defense of her Olympic downhill gold medal after failing to make progress recovering from a re-injured right knee. She will have surgery shortly. Vonn was on the comeback from surgery to repair two torn ligaments in the knee surffered in a February crash when she tore her ACL-- not for the first time-- in a training crash in November. The 29-year old then sprained her MCL during a race last month.
