ANN AROBOR, Mich. (AP) -- The University of Michigan is poised to stake a claim on the No. 1 ranking in the AP basketball poll. The second-ranked Wolverines beat Purdue last night 68-53 as Trey Burke had 15 points and eight assists. One hurdle remains before the new poll comes out next Monday, a date Sunday at Illinois. Duke, the top team in this week's poll, was beaten decisively by Miami of Florida earlier in the week.
