Connecticut has signed women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma to a new five year $10.86 mikllion contract designed to keep him at the school through the 2017-18 season. The 59-year old Hall of Famer, who has coached at U Conn for the past 28 seasons, will make $1.95 million in salary, speaking fees and media fees in the next year. That will gradually increase to $2.4 million in the final year of the deal. There are incentives also built into the language. U Conn is 31-4 this season and plays Maryland in Saturday's NCAA Bridgeport Regional.
