Tigers Sign Joe Nathan

The Detroit Tigers have signed free agent pitcher Joe Nathan to a two year deal. The 39-year old Nathan pitched for the Texas Rangers last season and made the all star team for the sixth time. He had a 6-2 record with a 1.39 earned run average and 43 saves. Nathan is tied for tenth all time with Rollie Fingers for saves with 341. He will replace Joaquin Benoit who had 24 saves for the Tigers this past season.
