Tigers Rout Yankees

Justin Verlander matched his career high with 14 strikeouts Monday night leading the Detroit Tigers to a 7-2 win over the New York Yankees at Comerica Park. Verlander gave up eight hits over eight innings-- his error led to both unearned runs. Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera homered for the Tigers who won their fifth straight game. The Tigers have three games left in the series which continues at 7:05pm Tuesday.
