The Detroit Tigers have finally released relief pitcher Jose Valverede outright. He had been pitching for the Tigers' triple A farm club at Toledo for the past month but had struggled there after being designated for assignment last month. Valverde had 119 career saves for the Tigers and was perfect in 49 appearances in 2011. But he struggled at times in the playoffs a year ago and was signed during the current season. He had some early success but then struggled and was designated and now he has been released outright.
