The Detroit Tigers overcame a 4-1 deficit Wednesday night and rallied to beat the Kansas City Royals 5-4. The Tigers have won the first three games of the series and will at least be tied for the Central Division lead by the end of the night with seven games remaining. Alex Avila hit a two run homer and Austin Jackson hit a solo shot to tie the game before the Tigers pushed over a run in the 8th inning to win it. Jose Valverde pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning. The Tigers are now 83-72. Their final home game is at 1pm Thursday with the Royals before playing their final six on the road-- three at Minnesota and three more at Kansas City.
