Tigers Lose to Chicago

Alex Rios tdied an American League record with 6 hits in a 9 inning game, leading the Chicago White Sox to an 11-4 win at Detroit over the Tigers Tuesday night. The White Sox scored 7 runs in the 8th inning to break a 1-1 tie and send Justin Verlander to his 6th loss against 9 wins. The White Sox, losers of 10 of their last 12 games, had a season high 23 hits. Miguel Cabrera hit his 29th homer for Detroit and teammate Matt Tuiasasopo hit his 5th. The Tigers lead Cleveland by 2 1/2 games in the Central Division with the Indians downing Toronto 3-0.
