Tigers Lose at Pittsburgh

By  |

Russell Martin's single off the outfield wall with no one out in the 11th inning Thursday night drove in the only run of the game and the Pirates beat the Detroit Tigers 1--0 in Pittsburgh. The score and inning was similar to a Pirates' victory earlier this week in Detroit. The Pirates have won 16 of their last 20 games and the Tigers have lost three straight, all to the Pirates. The Tigers left 11 men on base and ruined a solid pitching performance by starter Doug Fister.
