The Oakland A's beat the Tigers in Detroit Tuesday night, 6-3, in a game called in the 6th inning by rain. Justin Verlander failed in his fourth straight start to win his 13th game-- his record falls to 12-10. Verlander needed 44 pitches in the first inning-- the most of his career-- and left with a 2-0 deficit. The Tigers got a two run single from Prince Fielder and little else.
