The Detroit Tigers opened their final ten game homestand of the season Tuesday with a 12-2 win over the Oakland A's. Miguel Cabrera homered twice, one a grand slam and Prince Fielder hit his 27th homer and recorded his 100th rbi of the season. Max Scherzer pitched the first two innings and left with a sore shoulder and his status for his next scheduled start won't be known until the day he is scheduled to pitch. The Tigers now have a 78-69 record with 15 games remaining.
