The Detroit Tigers rode the hot pitching of Max Scherzer to a 5-1 win at Cleveland Tuesday night over the Indians. Andy Dirks and Miguel Cabrera each homered, the latter a two run shot that gave the Tigers a 5-1 lead. Scherzer gave up a saccrifice fly in the first inning then retired 22 straight batters before Jose Valverde retired the Indians in the 9th. The Tigers are now 24-19 and a game and a half behind the Indians whose six game win streak ended. The teams complete the series Wednesday night before the Tigers face Minnesota at Comerica Park this weekend.
