Keith Appling scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half, leading Michigan State to a comeback 67-64 win over Kansas in men's basketball Tuesday night in Atlanta. Kansas attempted a 3 pointer at the buzzer that missed giving the Spartans their first win of the season after an opening loss in Germany last Friday to Connecticut. The Spartans trailed by five at halftime and 45-40 before keeping the game close and taking the lead at 64-59 on an Appling three pointer. MSU hosts Texas Southern in its next game at noon on Sunday.
