Top ranked Serena Williams has withdrawn from the Dubai Tennis Championships with a lower back injury. Williams lost in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open last month after ihjuring her back. Second ranked Victoria Azarenka withdrew from the tournament on Tuesday, citing a bone bruise in her right foot.
