Andy Roddick's professional tennis career ended Wednesday afternoon at the U. S. Open tournament in New York. Roddick was defeated three sets to one by Juan Martin del Potro. Roddick won the opening set 7-6, but was handled in the final three.
Roddick, considered one of the best players in American history, announced last week on his 30th birthday that this U. S. Open would be his final tournament as a pro.
