Red Sox Win Game Five

The Boston Red Sox held on after taking a 4-0 early lead and beat the Tigers 4-2 in game five of the ALCS Thursday night in Detroit. Tigers' starting pitcher Annibal Sanchez gave up three runs in the second, one on a massive home run by Mike Napoli. The Tigers lost two out of three in Comerica Park and now must win games six and seven in Boston Saturday and Sunday to advance to the World Series. Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander are the scheduled Tigers' starters. The NLCS game six is set for Friday night in St. Louis with the Cardinals leading the Los Angeles Dodgers three games to two. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion.
