Greg Monroe scored 18 points and Kyle Singler 14 to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 99-96 exhibition victory Tuesday night over the Washington Wizards. The Wizards outscored the Pistons 27-20 at the fourth quarter and had a final possession to tie the game but couldn't hit the basket they needed. Charlie Villanueva left the game early for the Pistons with a bad back. The Pistons open the regular season on October 30th.
