Brighton's Emmie Pietila is the 2012 Michigan women's amateur golf champion. Pietila never trailed in beating former MSU player Natalie Brehm, the 2010 champ, 3 and 1 in the title match Friday afternoon at MSU's Forest Akers West Course. Pietila defeated current Spartan Liz Nagel of DeWitt in 19 holes in her morning semi-final. Pietila was the 5th seed after 36 holes of stroke play. Brehm defeated East Lansing's Jacqueline Setas one up in the morning semi-final after Setas took a 3 up lead through the first nine holes.
