Penn State Gives O'Brien $1 Million Raise

Penn State is giving head football coach Bill O'Brien a raise of nearly $1 million per year. O'Brien's total compensation package, including a NIKE deal will now average $3.2 million through the remainder of his contract which is good through the 2016 season. O'Brien's buyout clause has been lowered-- it is thought he would like to be a head coach eventually in the NFL. O'Brien led Penn State to an 8-4 record in his first season last fall.
