Notre Dame announced Wednesday it has joined the Atlantic Coast Conferernce in all sports except football. The ACC has no hockey so the Irish play in Hockey East after this final season of the CCHA.
Notre Dame will play five football games each year, however, against ACC opponents. Notre Dame is leaving the Big East to make the switch and the ACC says any team departing from here on out must pay a $50 million departure fee.
