The NHL players have approved via vote of the membership to disband their union. The executive board now makes the final call and has until January 2nd to do so. If the union disbands players then will not collectively bargain but can final anti trust lawsuits against the league. It is no certainty any of this will happen.
All NHL games are cancelled through January 14th. No new bargaining sessions have been scheduled.
